What is RoboCan?
RoboCan is an automatic dispensing insect control system that uses a unique technology. The
RoboCan automatic dispensing system repels and kills flying and crawling insects. These products
are easy to use and are unobtrusive when situated within the desired area.
How does RoboCan work and how does it differ from other sprays?
RoboCan works by automatically dispensing a mist of incredibly fine microparticles to repel
insects. RoboCan uses advanced MicroMist TECHNOLOGY™, which means the repellent spreads rapidly
throughout the home and leaves no residual insecticide, and therefore more effective than ordinary
insect sprays, which simply fall to the ground.
Is it effective?
Because of the automatic dispensing system which is set either 5 or 7minutes the repellent
never leaves the area, creating an insect free environment.
What types of insects does RoboCan Control?
RoboCan repels or kills most types of insects including flies, mosquitoes, ants,
moths, borers, fleas, wasps, cockroaches, dust mites etc.
How long does it take to repel or kill the insects?
Within days you will notice the absence of insects. Some insects such as fleas and borer will
take longer due to their hatching lifecycle.
Does the repellent have an allergy risk?
We are not aware of any general allergy risks, however some individuals may be sensitive to
the formulations used. The amount of natural pyrethrins released into the air is minimal, in fact
it is measured in parts per trillion. Pyrethrins have been used safely for hundreds of years
without risk. It also kills dust mites, which may be of benefit to some asthmatics.
How long does a refill last?
A 500ml aerosol cans life, for example, depends upon the dispenser setting used.
The following is a guide only for a 500ml can cycle usage:
7 minute standard dispenser setting up to 8 weeks
5 minute dispenser setting up to 6 weeks
A 185g aerosol can’s life will, as a guide, last approximately 60% of the above cycle
periods.
Where can I use RoboCan and where should I put it?
RoboCan automatic insect control systems are used in homes, offices, shops, warehouses, food
stores, restaurants, hotels, farm sheds, etc. RoboCan can be placed anywhere within the home or
work environment. It is usual to place the unit where insects are prevalent. Placement should be
approximately 2 metres above the floor and at least 300mm from the ceiling. Keep out of reach of
children.
How easy is RoboCan to use?
It is very easy to use because of its set and forget operation. Just follow the instructions
and place the unit on a shelf or wall. The automatic dispenser will operate for 24 hours a day/ 7
days a week.
What do the active ingredients contain?
RoboCan uses natural pyrethrins, which are one of the best natural insect control mechanisms
known to man. It is biodegradable and doesn’t leave any residues.
Has it been approved?
In Singapore, the National Environment Authority (NEA) has approves the RoboCan Insect
Repellent products. RoboCan had numerous approvals throughout the world, including: Europe,
Australia and New Zealand.
Is it expensive?
RoboCan is very economical. Once the system has been purchased, the cost of a replacement
refill aerosol can equate to approximately 40c per day.
How much is sprayed into the air?
The amount of mist released into the air varies with the different dispenser frequencies. A
typical indoor RoboCan unit will release the same quality of ingredients into the air in 2.5 days
as that released by a normal aerosol spray in 5 seconds.
Is it environmentally friendly?
RoboCan is biodegradable and environmentally responsible and does not leave any residual
insecticide. Pyrethrin and pyrethroids can affect aquatic organisms and we suggest that you do not
use the product close to, or near fish tanks or open ponds. Our aerosol products contain no CFC’s.
What are natural Pyrethrins?
Natural pyrethrins are an extract from a daisy flower mainly grown in Kenya, but are also
grown in other countries. Pyrethrins are one of natures most effective insect control mechanisms.
They deter insects from entering the coverage area and are deadly if the insects stay in the
coverage area.
What precautions should be taken while using RoboCan?
We clearly state precautions and first aid suggestions on all aerosols can labels. In
summary we recommend:
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not disperse directly over food or food preparation areas
- Contents may damage paint, plastic and other applied finishes if dispersed directly onto such
surfaces
- Excessive inhalation or exposure may cause respiratory and skin sensitisation
- Very toxic to aquatic organisms (do not use close to fish tanks)
- Flammable – do not store or use near fires, open flames or other heat sources
- Contents under pressure
If first aid is required, (for example if mist is dispersed accidentally into
eyes), wash out with large amount of water. If irritation persists, contact a doctor. In case of an
allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately and contact a doctor.
What is the 1-year dispenser warranty guarantee?
Your Robocan automatic dispenser is covered for 1 year from the date of purchase. The
warranty covers free repair or replacement of the dispenser due to any defects in material or
workmanship. Not covered under the warranty are deliberate misuse, breakage, normal wear and tear,
repairs carried out by unauthorised persons, or involving use of non-genuine RoboCan parts and
refill cans.
How long does the battery last?
Normally 6-12 months. An alkaline battery will last longer. We recommend that you change the
battery every 6 to 12 months.
If my RoboCan is not working, what should I do?
- Switch the unit on. Does the on/off button stay down?
(In some units the button may have to be pressed down to the bottom of its travel for the
switch to stay down and engage). Your Robocan will not dispense automatically unless the on button
is clicked into its down position.
- Press the on/off button a number of times. A clicking sound should be heard from
the dispenser.
(If there is no sound, please check the battery & repeat the procedure)
- If the Robocan clicks, but nothing comes out, check the Robocan for damage
- The dispenser workings may stick if the Robocan is stored for any period of
time.
Tap the base of the dispenser on a flat surface which in most cases will free the dispenser
solenoid.
- Check your battery power and can contents, and replace if needed.
- Check dispenser for signs of leaking:
Leaking from the bottom of dispenser (can will be wet)
Leaking from the top of dispenser where a small amount is continually coming out of the
nozzle.
- If the nozzle is popping out during dispensing, please contact us
accordingly.
- If the problem still exists, please contact your RoboCan distributor.
